The design concept of this triplex apartment located in Prague is composed of the play of rich textures: gorgeous custom made fittings and modern living style inspired by American mid-century interiors. Colorful and fresh design of Lenka Míková & Markéta Bromová makes the exploration these three floors an excellent experience.
The middle – entering level hosts the public spaces of the home where the family interacts. The top floor is where the quarters of the parents lay, and the half-way first floor is designed for the children. This functional division allows the playful design to unfold its creativity on multi-layered playground. Unifying design and architectural elements conceptually connect the design levels: gorgeous wooden fittings from natural oak veneer, rich textural elements – like the concrete floors, noble marble additions or the whiteness of the surfaces go throughout the design and visually unite the interior concept.
In the kitchen, elegant minimalism hides the technical fittings to support the natural texture or decor custom made cabinets of wood and the jewel-like Carrara marble kitchen island complete the picture. The vintage reference to the 50s and 60s that goes throughout the whole decor composition is especially visible in the colorful furniture of the dining zone. Actually, the furniture selection of the home decor includes several design icons alongside custom made elements (like the handles, the cabinets, the TV wall ) and trendy additions like the brass details and bathroom fittings.
This eclectic selection gives playful character to the design and attracts particular attention to the project. Nice artistic touches like the tiles in the bathrooms ( hexagonal black with brass handles in the master bathroom or colorful patterns in the children’s’) the huge floor to ceiling doors, the juxtaposition of white surfaces and large wooden claddings and many more beautiful design twists makes this interior excellent example of contemporary Czech design.
