Contemporary interior composed by a play of tiles and inspired by the Mediterranean sea, the Paras Café is located in cosmopolitan Shanghai and influenced by modern urban dynamics. An intriguing combination between contemporary shapes, a variety of geometrical elements and well-measured color patterns the space interior offers clear-lined stylistic and fresh ambiance.
The combination of blue and white tiles evokes the relaxing spirit of the Mediterranean coast with its white sands and deep blue sea. This color combination is not only relaxing but also fresh and has a vitalizing projection on the mood development – so a perfect ambiance for coffee and friendly chat.
The architects from the Swimming Pool Studio had stroked a smart balance between urban dynamics and contemporary elegance, between unostentatious materials: like plane cement, ceramic tiles, and metal; noble choices like the wood and the marble counter-top on the reception desk, which becomes a central focal point of the design composition.
Playful elements like the strange geometrical shapes of the metal lattice that hangs from the ceiling, the 3D projections of the tile arrangement, the colorful introduction on the front desk and its tile pavement give a unique style and memorable character to the decor composition. The juxtaposition of the round glass elements (mirrors and glass ball lamps) is a dynamic twist of the interior decor scheme that brings a harmonizing balance of shapes. This modern cafe interior decoration is an excellent example of how much today’s urban design can achieve with only one material choice – in this case the ceramic tile arrangement.
