It is not very often that we encounter such and exceptionally beautiful contemporary villa project that originates from Sweden – but nonetheless, here it is; Villa J – a family home for five. The essence of the house is luxurious and modern – with graphic art motifs, but the settling presence of wood, exposed gray bricks, stone and the warmth of textures gives to the premises inviting and homey touch. The house architecture possesses open float sequence of the living spaces that is not only quite untypical for the harsh northern climate but is also a bit exotic and ideologically corresponding with the luxury approach towards the additional premises – sauna, winter garden, pool house and an atrium.
The furnishing of the house is a tasteful mixture of classic elegance and contemporary fresh design, spiced up with an abundance of craft elements and art pieces. The graphic upholsteries used in the patio furniture or the inside cushions, introduces an exotic element into the interior, which is further strengthened by the rich plant presences, the artistic lighting solutions and the untainted wood spread throughout the house as cladding and furnishing. The black aluminum framing of the facade is further met in the dark draperies and cladding of the furniture in the interior decor, some decorative elements (like the plant pots or the woven chairs) are also an extension of the tendency, retaining the stylish dark thread that goes around. Modern, elegant and functional – with enough artistic details to escape boredom, without being obstructive – the home of this Swedish family created by Johan Sundberg is a New Year delight for us all.
