Sunny Example of Australian House Design

0

Yet another sunny example of Australian house design, this vast open home is located at Hyde Park – Sandton and designed by Daffonchio & Associates Architects. The architectural structure consists of two long and low wings that remain open view toward the tranquil garden. Floating roofs and glass walls ensure the controlled penetration of sun light and fresh air throughout the premise. Clever architectural solutions (like the 16 meter frameless sliding glass wall) guarantee unobstructed passage to the secluded inner garden with its gorgeous trees, plants and the beautiful ecopool, which  is intelligently designed as an integral part of the garden with wetlands and natural filtering plans that blend with the rest of the vegetation.

The interior design of the house is decided with clear lines and comfortable furniture, adorn by various art pieces and soft textures. Wood, leather, granite surfaces and artistic carpets define the inner premises, spread into the vast clear space that is this open-plan house.  Some of the design elements deserve special attention – like the entrance door for example. It’s designed by Marcus Neustetter – a South African artist who used a topographic image of Johannesburg and it’s surrounding for the laser imprint of the door, which consist of laser – cut steel sheet – on the outside and laser – cut walnut on the inside, mediated by glass plate that lets the light shine thru. The whole impression of the house is one of free floats, comfort and artistic elegance, laid under the bright Australian sun.
