Cozy Monochromatic Colour Flat
3.09.2011
El Palauet Living is a shining example of this trend at work . El Palauet Living is a group of flats in Barcelona that represent this new travel experience in Barcelona, Spain. Sitting atop the ritzy avenue of Passeig de Gràcia, six suites have been carefully constructed in a building dated back to 1906 – although you would never know this by the modern look of the façade. Each suite is unique; no two are alike in any way other than the spectacular view of the Passeig de Gràcia and the majestic Tibidabo Mountain.

Seeing that the building is over one hundred years old, there were many features that were kept and restored in the suites. Features such as stained glass windows, distinctive ceilings (45 different ceilings to be exact), hallway moldings and an array of other features bring character to each space and offer depth amongst the modern furniture. The combination of the old and the new, and the accomplishment of allowing the two to compliment one another is stunning. Modern furniture (pieces by Eames, Saarinen, Van der Rohe and Starck amongst others) offer clean lines and cozy monochromatic colour schemes.
