‘Yksi Chair’ by Alexander Brink and Antti Pulli
5.10.2010
Alto University Industrial Design students Alexander Brink and Antti Pulli have sent in images of their project ‘yksi’, a cardboard chair that can be shipped and stored flat. Designed to be a space-saving seating object, ‘yksi’, which means ‘one’ in finnish, is made up of a single sheet of cardboard with no loose parts or separate joineries. Within seconds, the light but sturdy chair can be folded together from its flat state. Fold lines are created by strategically slicing away strips of the outer layer and exposing the corrugated brown fiber within.
